For the next 26 years, Ms. Rasmuson designed theatrical lighting throughout the country and in Europe. She worked in regional theaters throughout the country, but principally at Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Center Stage in Baltimore, Hartford Stage and Syracuse Stage. Outside the theater, Ms. Rasmuson designed the lighting for and toured with the rock band, Emerson, Lake and Palmer. For three seasons, she was the resident lighting designer for Chamber Opera of New York. Ms. Rasmuson taught lighting seminars at Brandeis University and worked with the Connecticut Vocational/Technical schools teaching technical theater.
