A resident of Petersburg since 1978, Ms. Norosz has worked in the seafood industry for more than 35 years. She was a fisheries biologist and technician for the state, fished commercially in Southeast and Bristol Bay for ten years, and was executive director of two fishing associations. She was recently selected for the Alaska Humanities Forum Salmon Fellows program and was director of government affairs at Icicle Seafoods, Inc. from 1996-2017.
Ms. Norosz has served on the International Pacific Halibut Commission, the Alaska Arctic Policy Commission, as an advisor to the North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission, a member of the Advisory Panel to the North Pacific Fishery Management Council and in other capacities on various fisheries related committees and organizations.
She currently serves on The Foraker Group Governance Board, the Alaska Airlines Community Advisory Board, the Advisory Committee for Alaska Sea Grant, and continues to participate with Maritime Works, a leadership group working to implement the Alaska Maritime Workforce Development Plan. Ms. Norosz chairs the Affiliate Committee of the Alaska Community Foundation and serves on their External Relations and Capital Campaign Committees. She also serves on the Strategy Committee for the Alaska Division of Economic Development to craft a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for Alaska.
Her past community work includes election to the Petersburg City Council, service as a founding member of the Petersburg Community Foundation, and service on the boards of The Alaska Community Foundation and The Nature Conservancy in Alaska.
