We are looking for a program officer, a key staff member who provides strategic leadership on grants supporting arts, culture, humanities, health care, housing and community development. Program officers work with community leaders on projects related to economic betterment, social infrastructure and quality of life. The successful candidate will serve as a resource for the Foundation board and work with everyone on staff in a fast-paced, detail-oriented collaborative environment. As such, the person will need to bring a blend of tact, diplomacy, joy and creativity to the position. The individual will manage a grant portfolio of $20 million to $25 million. Proven experience in philanthropic or nonprofit organizations is preferred and nonprofit accounting is a plus.
In addition, the program officer serves to link the Foundation to valuable external resources, maintaining an active line of inquiry with other foundations, the broader philanthropic community and targeted affinity communities. The appointment of a senior program officer with additional management-level responsibilities may be considered for candidates who demonstrate the experience and background.
