Kris Palmatier joined Rasmuson Foundation in 2016 as accounting manager. Today, Kris serves as finance director and oversees all things finance from audits to budgets and taxes.
Kris is a dancer and entrepreneur by trade, and his past experiences include co-founding Underground Dance Company (UDC), owning a small café, and owning a finance startup. Kris’s experience operating the dance company exposed him to accounting and finance, and he has served in financial functions for the State of Alaska, Cornerstone General Contractors, and Kimura and Associates.
Kris received an associate’s in accounting and a bachelor’s in business administration and management, minoring in finance, from Alaska Pacific University. In 2020, he completed his Master’s in Business Administration from Western Governor’s University. In addition to academics, Kris is an alumni of Leadership Anchorage, a program of the Alaska Humanities Forum, and Catalyst for Nonprofit Excellence, a program of The Foraker Group.
Kris serves as a board member for Alaska Junior Theater and has joined Momentum Dance Collective. He also serves on subcommittees for the Pride Foundation and the Alaska Humanities Forum.
Kris is a lifelong Alaskan with a passion for all things art — especially local dance and theater. He attributes much of who he is as an individual and a professional to his early exposure to the arts. It was this exposure that gave Kris his voice and taught him that repetition does indeed have purpose, which has served to build his commitment to financial excellence.
