Todd Shenk joined the Foundation in June 2018 with more than two decades of experience in philanthropy and nonprofit work in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
As director of education for the Denali Education Center he created programs to help connect Alaskans and visitors to Interior Alaska’s natural history, culture and art. Todd also worked with at-risk and homeless youth in Anchorage at Covenant House Alaska.
From 2005-2017 he worked at Casey Family Programs in Seattle, where he partnered with philanthropic and governmental leaders around the country to improve child welfare systems. For three years, he served on loan from Casey Family Programs to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington D.C., where his focus was advancing federal policy at the intersection of housing, homelessness and child welfare. He was a Presidio Institute Cross Sector Leaders Fellow in 2016.
Todd holds a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is drawn to Alaska’s mountains and waterways.
