It’s that time of year again! Rasmuson Foundation is accepting applications for the 2019 Individual Artist Awards (IAA). The application closes March 1.
To help artists apply, Rasmuson Foundation is hosting two events:
- An online webinar will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. Participate by clicking on this link just before it begins.
- A workshop will be held at the Anchorage Museum on Wednesday, Feb. 13. It will be in the auditorium off the atrium starting at 5:45 p.m.; doors open at 5:30 p.m. You can RSVP at this Eventbrite link.
As in past years, two levels of awards are offered: $7,500 project awards open to emerging, mid-career and mature artists in all 11 of the Foundation-recognized disciplines and $18,000 fellowships available for mid-career and mature artists in six disciplines. Note: IAA recipients from 2017 and 2018 are not eligible to apply this year.
Read more here. You will find a link to the application and other tips on how to apply. And here are the guidelines that explain the application in detail.
In addition to the grant, award recipients will have access to professional development opportunities through Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, including a daylong workshop in May.
The workshop will provide practical, Alaska-focused information on artist statements, work samples, artist CVs and resumes, grants and residencies, finances, legal issues, marketing and creative careers.
To raise the profile of our recipients, we have entered into a partnership with local nonprofit 49 Writers for stories on recent recipients. The first of these profiles by Alaska writers about Alaska artists can be found on our new web feature here.
For more information, call Rasmuson Foundation at (907) 297-2700.
We hope you consider applying!
