This morning Thomas Ubered me to the airport for my flight to Kodiak. He reminded me why I love living in Anchorage, Alaska. A friend of Thomas had moved to Alaska 20 years ago and loved it, invited him to come up and check it out. He headed up for a month and 7 years later he’s still here. Much like my story. But Thomas isn’t from Brooklyn, New York, he’s from Cameroon in West Africa. He gets home every couple of years. He told me people always ask him, “do you like it up there?” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten that same question over the years. He thinks Alaska is a beautiful place but could do without the winters!
You can meet someone from anywhere in the world in Anchorage. It’s one of the reasons I love it here.
